Re: Pics of trucks in Primer Paint

[QUOTE=robt_virginia;4257247]I used a product called "Zero Rust". It's marketed as a primer/paint. I applied it by rattle can. The color is "safety blue" and has a satin finish.

How many cans does it take to paint the whole truck, and how many coats. I like that color too.

I actually have not quite painted the whole truck yet. I think I bought like 20 cans to start off with. I took off the two front quarter panels, front bumper, grill and gave them 3 coats. However, the rest of the truck was given just a "quick 2 coat" job. Even though they say you can paint over wire brushed rust with the Zero Rust, I used MarHyde rust converter before painting. I actually ran out of Zero Rust and sprayed the back bed with Rustoleum safety blue. It matches in color to the Zero Rust, but it has a shiny gloss finish.

Eventually, I plan to get the truck professionally painted, but until then I hope my Zero Rust/Rustoleum job will hold up. (My truck is not garaged)
