Anyone done a 5.7 vortec swap ?

I tried a search but didn't find much, lots on 5.3's but didn't find anything on putting a 96-99 5.7 swap with FI, tranny and ecm. Just wondering if they are any easier to do than the 5.3. I want to be able to run stock guages. I had one of these trucks but I can't remember if the accelerator, speedo were electric or cable.

The vortec 350 has a cable throttle, electronic speedo,same motor mounts as all sbc, you can use your stock speedo with a elctronic to cable adapter.

Thanks, what about temp, oil press. guages, can you run mechanical?

With the right sending units, you can run mechanical.

You can use all the stock guages with a 5.3 also. Just use the Abbot cable x-box for the speedo. Shon on here is doing it with his 6.0 I believe, and he sells the CableX too. I'm running my 5.3 on stock guages but haven't decided on the speedo box yet, so no speed info. Everything else works fine.
