[QUOTE=Slick67;4149702]Oh, gotcha now. My quote didn't pop up in your quote till I refreshed. You are right, it would be dinged, dented, keyed, and other things if he drove it to school. Unfortunate because it is a nice school with many boneheads that go there.

No it was my fault, no worries, I forgot to quote correctly. It's great to see how much improvement can be made with paint, compound and such. It motivates me to keep progressing on my projects. Keep them pics coming when you get the time. Roger

Start a project thread, I would follow along! Thanks for the compliments Roger, they help keep me motivated too!

Thanks Joe! This is the first time I have just cleaned up and touched up a whole vehicle, but it won't be the last. I am astounded with the outcome so far.

Re: New one in the family!!

That's one heck of a clean survivor! Awesome find.
You're doing a great job making it look "new" again, remarkable transformation.

Did you get the dent worked out?
If not deflate a cheap football or small playground ball with one of those needle air fittings. Make up an air hose pigtail attached to the needle and slide the deflated ball up behind the dent. Apply some air pressure to re-inflate the ball and push the dent out....?
A trick I've used many times over the years.

Thanks Permafrost, that makes my day hearing that because my goal is being reached. I will try a football, sounds perfect, the shape is almost spot on for the dent!! I have used a plastic 2 liter bottle before that worked pretty good but it leaks a little and you have to do it fast with compressed air.

Re: New one in the family!!

Your Nephew has a truck he should be real proud of. It is looking almost like a totally different truck with some time and effort. Very nice!

Re: New one in the family!!

Thanks Bro! He is really proud of it. The more original it is the more he loves it. Not typical for a 13 year old to be that way, but I'm glad he is!

Re: New one in the family!!

Slick, How many man hours would you say you have invested in this truck? It looks to me like you've improved more on this truck in a couple days than I have on my project in 3 months... Good job, you're on hell of an uncle.

Thanks Bro! The air cleaner had one fisheye in it, so that did come out great. I didn't think of doing these pics....my brother did. I like em too and we took about 30 pics of them.

I would say 40 to 50 hours and alot of that time was my brother, nephew, and myself working on it, but the things we have done are really just cosmetic. Don't get frustrated on your project, I have been working over 2 years on the orange truck!!! I appreciate your compliments, and yes I remind my nephew what a great uncle I am all the time!
