Rear axle swap question
I have a friend building a 70 1/2 ton burb and wanting to go with the 5 lug set up. On the 12 bolt rear end, it looks to be the later, wider one. I am parting a 72 and wanted to know if just the axle shafts will interchange to that rear. Basically slide the shafts out of one to the other. Or will it be easier just to swap the complete rear end? Thanks for any input. Eric

Re: Rear axle swap question
Yes, if you have the wider one you can swap the shafts. But there may be a good reasons to just swap the whole rear end like condition, gearing, posi, etc.

Re: Rear axle swap question
Thanks for the replies. The burb is pretty clean from out of state, and the cheyenne is a rusty MN truck. Makes sense to just swap the axles if possible. Eric
