Thanks for getting us up to date Rob. Please give us complete details on your brake system. What mods were needed, master cylinder/prop valve, combo etc.

I'm in for info - Unfortunately, I don't think I will be hustling my truck through any autocross tracks with the old manual steering (and the fact it looks like an exploded diagram of a truck at the moment), but I do want to be able to attack the back roads and scare the living crap out of my passengers. Between the two Rob's here on the site, I might actually learn something... Um, I mean not literally between them...

sorry for the delay in getting back to you, it's been a busy past couple of months. Our break kit is the "prototype" for Baers Pro 14+ Brake Package with 6S six piston calipers up front, and now we have the new 4 piston T4's out back, which by the way are bad ass!! As far as booster set up this is what I have:

- Early Classic Dual Diaphram Booster with an 1 1/8" Master.
- Use a Disc/Disc Prop valve ( basically a dist. block - no bias metering)
- Baer kit comes with an adjustable prop valve for the REAR brakes +$50
- In line tube - Stainless Brake kit works just fine for everything, I had to make the rear axle line from scratch, but it's pretty simple.
- USE DOT 3 brake fluid only

If anyone is interested please let me know, I am a Baer Brakes Dist, and I can do some really nice pricing for 67-72 Truck members. Keep in mind they take 6-8 weeks on average to get, they build them to order per application.

Example of stopping times with this kit:

2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 stops from 60mph - ZERO in 108 ft

1969 Chevrolet C-10 "PHILLIPS 69" stops from 60mph - ZERO in 71 ft

no BS I have it on video go to you tube and type in PCHRODS in the search and look for it in our videos, it's ridiculous!!

Rob, what kind of options do you have for Baer kits? I'm certainly not ready for 14" rotors yet, but I may be looking into some upgrades in the future.

I have to ask, did the chassis require any bracing or did you bolt on the suspension kit, throw on some tires and brakes and go throw the smack down? Also, do you have any pictures of how the shoulder harness bar is attached?

Rob’s truck has gone through some serious changes. These two videos show how much better his truck handles now.

Great videos, I noticed this truck in the background a few times watching the Optima Street car challenge on Speed channel but all they showed was big dumb cars! (j/k, it is awesome to watch them all) I was hoping to see the truck on the road course.

OO, OO, OO, Mr. Carter I want to autocross. I'm in the process of doing research for the right parts. I have a 71 C10. Hotchkis, and the roadster shop look to be the true specialist on these years. I'm planning trips to both shops. Hotchkis looks to be the less expenive with quality. The Roadster Shop looks to be more extensive but expensive. I want something that is good on both the street, in between the cones and if I happen to get the chance to hit a closed road course of some sort.

Look into Total Cost Involved, No Limit, and Porterbuilt Fab.

I've been told that you don't have to box the frame on these trucks for great performanc. Is that true?

Thanks, I forgot all about those. Porterbuilt especially. I'm of the belief that I don't have to box the frame unless I'm quarter miling it under some high horsepower. Any opinions please?
