manual or electric pump
I need some advice. I have a sbc in a 67 chevelle 3200lbs runs 11.30 @119. I have been using a Holley hp150 however it has taken a crap the motor burned up. I don't want to buy another $200 pump what would be wrong with a manual pump (Holley 130) and how much power will this rob versus the electric? I am using an alternator. hope everyone had a safe and happy thanksgiving

Re: manual or electric pump
Unless you are running your 1/4 miles on the battery only, the mechanical pump will cost you LESS power than the electric. This is because the conversion efficiencies of both the pump motor and the alternator are relatively low.

Re: manual or electric pump
I am running an alternator and was hoping the trade off of the electric pump working the alt harder vs the drag of the manual pump might be the same. thanks for the info
