soooooo coooollllldddd !!!!!

so i moved from las vegas to Bend,OREGON in july. ive got 2 trucks ... a 69 c10 and a 79 k10. i brought the 79 up here and had to leave the c10 in vegas with my dad. well long story short, i had a 160 deg t-stat in the 79 k10 in vegas to help cool it in the summer and didnt remember until yesterday !!! 8 in. of snow on the ground and negative temps for tomorrow/tonight !!! and no heat SUCKS !!! DOHHHHH !!!! just figured id share the story. guess ill be puting a t-stat in it tomorrow at work

Buy a 2-4 of your favorite canned drink, empty it, unfold the cardboard and slide it between the rad and grille. Cheap cold front.

I've found in my old 350 that it ran way better with a 195 than with a 160, may be different in the desert though.

That sounds exactly like me with my 71! I left Las Vegas for Massachusetts a year ago and made it through a whole winter still with a 160 stat! I forgot thats what I had in there! I just now put a 195 in there, now the engine actually warms up and I have real heat!
It's too cold here in Mass to really live anyway, after living in Vegas for over 20 years! I can't believe what I'm putting my poor truck through! How's Texas, anybody?

Well the cold snap should be over by now eh? tell ya what i used to live in Eastern washington, -20 can be fairly common over there, in fact one year my thermometer dipped to -40.. that was so cold!

It was a cool 70 here today in Texas with a good breeze. We don't get the real cold til January/February. Still, no Zero.
