Oil Pan
How hard is it to replace an oilpan on my 350? I bought
a new powder coated pan and gasket set, but it looks like I would have to be a contortionist to get the pan out. Let me guess.. I have to jack up the motor?? Just wondering if I'll have enough time before work today to get the job done? Thanks for any input!! Dan'o

its not easy.....Yea you have to jack the engine up some..the position of the crank will hold you up...so you have to rotate it so the thows are out of the way. I hope you got a one piece gasket..its the only way to go..also I use studs instead of bolts..makes it much easier

I put a thick board under the oil pan and jack it up there enuff to put 2x4s under the engine mounts. The 2x4s give a needed 2" clearance. You may have to rotate crank to get the front rod journal in the up position and then its pretty smooth sailing. Remember to remove the tranny mount bolts and the exhaust pipe may need to be dis-connected as well depending.

May as well wait and do it when the engine is out !!
Got a new Cam and rockers going in hopefully soon!! Regardless, it aint gonna happen before work today..  Thanks as always!!

any good auto parts store will have them in stock i've used the fel-pro one it's made out of blue rubber it's the only way to go!!!!
