does anybody sell...

...a full exhaust system, with pipes to take the exhaust out past the rear tires? I'm getting tired of huffing exhaust fumes and having the mufflers drone under the cab as it is now. I'm thinking something along the lines of a direct replacement to the original system.

Re: does anybody sell...

Ditto on LMC...

And they also sell the Magnaflow "Stainless Steel" tube sets,(which is what I'm now switching all my vehicle exausts to... the Stainless Steel tubes, I mean). AL-ized-steel is all well and good, but the AL burns off where ever the tube is welded together. Stainless Steel pipe lasts way longer than AL/Steel pipes, IMHO, that makes it worth the added cost,(that and I can weld stainless myself).

I didn't go with the Magnaflow pipes, myself, because I didn't like the placement/design of the system. I basically cut, bent, and fit my own tubes exactly where I wanted them instead, that and I am running a custom-built set of headers on my 70-C20 that I needed to start from. (I'm also real hard to please, so I have to ask folk's pardon at times... ).

I still insist that I'm not the only American in this country that hates the "Kirby-Vacume-Cleaner Sound" coming from my exaust as I drive down the road! But on the other hand I shudder at the thought of "All Noise and Little Movement" too! (...all those special gears I have on/in my engine were expensive enough to want to hear too).

Re: does anybody sell...

I see the glasspack kit on LMC..has anybody used that before? Also, I'm running headers, what kind of cutting/fab work am I going to have to do to get this setup to fit up right?

Re: does anybody sell...

Summit sells a dual aluminized mandrel bent set up made by Hooker Headers for about $200 with a choice of rear exits straight out the back or behind each wheel. You have to buy mufflers. I used cherry bomb turbo mufflers. It was a decent kit that fit pretty well ( a couple of the slip joints were a little too tight and I had to expand them). It had all the hangars, clamps, etc. Total was about $260 with mufflers.

Re: does anybody sell...

So it comes with both types of exits?. I'm definitely going with side exit, but the rear exit might be a nice change later on.

No. I thought I had a choice when I ordered it but in checking today it appears only side exits. Part number at Summit is 16621HKR if this link doesn't work:

Re: does anybody sell...

I just picked up the Magnaflow set-up, it looks great in the box, comes with all the hangers, rubber, clamps, mufflers etc. It even came with an extra crossflow chamber! ( accidentally I assume, see my earlier post)
Cost $599 Cdn, not cheap but easy to order from most exhaust shops so no shipping hassles.
I expect some work will still be required to hook the exhaust up to my sanderson headers, I'll get someone who knows their stuff for that.

i saw the 2 xpipes you got!
we got the same kit, but we are having some difficulties since our truck is a shortbed with LT headers , and its a universal kit made for a LWB. we picked ours up through bensons for 435.87cdn. I cant wait to hear it fire with the kit on!

Post pictures, I'd like to see where the x ends up being. You think the pipes they give you could hook into a stock rams horn?

That appears to be a manifold-back exhaust system. The one I found of Summit is this:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-16522HKR/

..which is their so-called header-back exhaust system. I'm just trying to figure out why there's a $30 diff, that's all.

Re: does anybody sell...

The difference is that header back system isn't going to connect to stock exhaust manifolds; the front pipes will connect at the header collectors.
