I believe if I am not mistaken that you may have to get an aftermarket lower intake base for the vortec heads. I'm not sure, but I'm sure someone on here can shed more light.

As far as HP: (Once again please correct me if I am wrong) If you simply get a stock tpi and bolt it to an engine then you will gain effectively no HP. These units were designed to operate at or below 4000 rpm to make power. Stock tpi is not great on the top end. But what you will gain is torque and MUCH better throttle response. No question I installed a tpi from an iroc on my 350 and you could FEEL the difference. This is going from a quadrajet to the tpi. So I strongly advocate tpi, but do not confuse it for a HP adder. You will increase drivablility and torque and fuel economy somewhat. I can leave my truck for months at a time while I am at college and when I return home I can barley hit the switch and it fires to life.

That is my humble opinion from my personal experience. You can buy all sorts of aftermarket pieces from edelbrock to hop these units up, but the stock will operate best around town, not at the track.

Here is mine. I did this back in 1987 so it's a little old fashion compared to today's standards. Nothing fancy!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
