shaved cowl
I was thinking about smoothing out my cowl. I was just wondering if anyone sells them already shaved?

My friend Ron and I do these when we don't have anything else to do, so we won't be churning them out any time soon. If we can't get $300 + shipping we can't afford to do them as they take a lot of time to do, and do right. This is an informational thread that justincat started, so please don't turn it into a "for sale" thread and get it locked... Thanks. Here is a thread on it. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=366456 LockDoc

Re: shaved cowl
if you do it yourself make sure to have it bolted down or it will curl up due to the heat and removing the center metal. Also tack and move to not let it heat up. take your time welding and also with the grinding.

Re: shaved cowl
Question? I am thinking about shaving a cowl for my 67'. It just has the factory heater, no AC. Am I going to have problems with the heat in the winter?

Re: shaved cowl
Here's the before and after on mine. No need to look for prefab panels. Some cardboard, a sharpie, $25.00 worth of 18 ga cold rolled and two days of cutting and welding. Notice I didn't include bondo on the list...there isn't any!
