Re: help me find a radiator

I went to a radiator shop and ordered one for my '69. People buy them from parts stores. If you're looking for a used radiator that will fit, get out your tape measure and start there.

Re: help me find a radiator

Modine makes a nice radiator for 60-66 with V8, and it has passages for your transmission cooler. It's a direct bolt-in, but you need to get a new upper radiator mount from a V8 truck, which is a bit different than the 6-cyl upper mount.

The V8 radiator sits up higher...it is wider, so sits on top of the frame rails instead of sliding down in between.

You can even go aluminum if you want. They sell them on E bay. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/eBay-Mot...0.l1313&_rdc=1 . If you get one.. Choose wisely

Re: help me find a radiator

Here's a photo of mine after I fabricated a shroud for my dual fans...I did move one of the lower saddles over a bit to clear the trans cooler port. My buddy in Phoenix is currently running one in his '66 with a performance 406 ci SBC and air conditioning that he drives everyday and has no issues in the AZ heat with the AC on.

i just recently ordered a Modine for my VW Cabriolet daily driver...i got it at Advance Auto Parts...they were running a 20% off special for online ordered radiators, but i'm not sure if one is available there for your truck....the Modine for my VW fit great with no issues at all

Re: help me find a radiator

I see some advertised as 60-62, and some 60-66, and some 63-66.

Isn't it the same radiator?

Or atleast; won't they all fit?

Re: help me find a radiator

They will probably all fit, but the 60-62's I've seen all bolt to the grille support with side flanges, while the later versions rest in a saddle at the bottom and have a clamp holding the top tank in place. I'm not sure what year the design change was implemented.

Re: help me find a radiator

Thanks,
Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I had a 62 in my 65.
