Re: New Member - 68 Stepper

yup a 67 cab like we've said but someones done work to it. power brakes later rear fenders and rear bumper looks like f@rd mirrors and i pretty sure 67 or 68 didnt come with a rear cargo light.
and looks like a 69+ gauge cluster

Re: New Member - 68 Stepper

from cold western Michigan. Nice deal and nice truck. You couldn't touch one here for less than twice that.
Here's a little tip for you that will save you some time when posting and will help get you some answers to questions.
Make a signature for your posts like you see others have in this thread and put some basic info in it, like year and model of truck. Engine and trans.
if you don't know how to do it. then just click on USER CP at the top of any thread then in the left column click on "edit signature" and put what you want in it then click save.

Another welcome from Arkansas.

It's a hybrid / composite. Not necessarily a bad thing, because few (almost none of the) trucks out there end up with all original-year parts on them. My guess is that it's a 67 with some add-ons.

A cool rig & one heck of a price !!!!

Congratulations.

Frankenstepper. Cool.

I'd venture 90% of Forum Member's trucks are "Frankensomething". Some by design, some by necessity, and some through circumstance. 100% stock is rare and wonderful. I apprecite them greatly, but never seem to go that way for several reasons.

I have to admit a smile coming across my face when I saw you pondering a wheel choice.

I suggest you start elsewhere. The rea$on$ will become evident. Maybe a good start would be in not sharing the price of every purchased part with the little woman.

Re: New Member - 68 Stepper

Update: I NO LONGER HAVE THE TRUCK!!! I took it back to the owner and got my money back. The closer I looked at the title of the truck I noticed something just wasn't right. Turns out there was some shady business going on with the title and the owner finally fessed up and agreed to give me all my money back. Let's just say now I know why it was such a great deal on the price of the truck. So now I'm back to looking for a stepper...

Glad you were persistant! maybe ya should have let the sp in on it so he didn't do it to someone else?

EDIT: Thinking about it, the knowledge base of some of the forum members around here can really help a person out! glad that tho's who noticed mentioned the inconsistancys to you.

Re: New Member - 68 Stepper

Lpruit, theres a 67 or 68 stepper here in Arkansas for sale. White, needs rockers at least, and wood bed replaced. Stopped to look at it the other day. It didn't have a battery, owner said engine ran 2 years ago. Said he wanted $2500. I'll try and get a couple pics tommorrow to post.

thanks for the info... I've been so busy here at work lately that I forgot to update everyone, the following weekend after I took back the 68 stepper I purchased a nice 87 Silverado SWB at a great price. I will post pics as soon as get a chance. We are trying to meet crazy deadlines here at work before everyone begin leaving for the Christmas holidays.
