71 cab on a 72

I'm putting a 1971 cab on my 1972 truck. I would like it to look as much like a 1972 as possible. The '71 cab has the raised area for the mirror. Would you fill in the 3 mirror holes and use a '72 windshield mount mirror or will that look funny with the raised area for the mirror mount that's not being used?

I have a 72 truck and didnt like the mirror on the windshield so I put a 71 mirror on it .I like it much better and its easier to clean the windshield . I would just put it on there using those holes .If you need a 71 style mirror Ive got one you can have .

Thanks, I appreciate the offer, but I already have a new in the box 1972 mirror that I want to try to use first. I'm just hoping it's not going to look too out of place to have the raised part on the roof. Maybe I can put a map light or something there.

I didn't know the difference between 71 & 72. pics please

I have no way to post pictures now because the 71 cab is at the body shop and the 72 cab is in a friend's field in another county. The only difference I'm aware of is that the 71 has a mounting area on the ceiling for the rear view mirror - and the 72 does not, and the 72 has air vents in the door jambs - and the 71 does not. I'll post a pic the next time I visit them.
