Re: Pictures of Crew Cab Short Bed's

I picked this one up last night. 125K miles, absolutely rust free and as clean as a new one. The PO used it to pull a plane in and out of a hangar so it has pretty much no real use. Plans initially are to remove the topper, 20 or 22 inch wheels(staying 8 lug) and slight lowering, nothing drastic. But then again that's how all my trucks start, they never stay that way for long!

Re: Pictures of Crew Cab Short Bed's

Here is mine I'm working on

Its a 97. Started out as a 2wd long bed dually with a 454. Over the last year its gone though a bit of a change.

I took a 94 dodge 3/4 pickup and used the engine (5.9L 12v diesel), transmission (nv4500), transfer case (NP241), front axle (dana 60) and rear axle (dana 80) and stuff them into the truck. Shortened the frame and added the short bed.

Its sitting on 35s and seems to work real well. I have about 5000 miles on it now, I've been averaging about 16.3mpg and out on the highway have gotten as good as 18.8. I'm hoping to hit 20mpg once I get some new injectors and do a little tuning.

Obviously I need to get the bed painted, but I'm going to have the whole thing repainted black.

Pretty much everything works like it should: A/C, cruise control, brakes, clutch, etc.

I still have a few odds and ends to do on it, but I'm liking it.

Rarest of the rare right there. I think about 4000 were made total in 1999-2000.
