Finally done with my headers and dual exhaust

Hedman Elite Hedders with HTC coating, #69890. The only problems I had with them was the pass side hit the fuel and brake lines running along the frame. Just had to bend them out of the way a little. Also bolting up the compressor and steering pump bracket to the header. Instructions say construct a simple spacer. Well I ended up using a bunch of washers ground flat along the header tube side and they still don't seem to line up very well.

The exhaust is 2.5" mandrel bent Flowmaster pipes that exit behind the rear wheels and 2 Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers. Next weekend I'll put in the Gibson tips and post the pics.

Do you get a pop gun sound effect when you floor it? I did on a caprice I had a few years back with no cross over.

There is a bracket available through Jeg's or Summit (or others) specifically for compressor. How difficult is spark plug access?

I did it all myself. Flowmaster sells the prebent over the axle pipes. Then I ordered a 6" s-bend pipe from the collector to the muffler.

The rear bar is 1 1/8" from Beltech.

I got that bracket from hedman(and it didnt fit well. I compared it to the stock bracket it it was off by about half an inch) for the rear of the compressor. But another bracket is needed for the lower front where it ties into the steering pump and all the instructions says is make your own simple spacer.

Spark plug access is easy using a box wrench.

Re: Finally done with my headers and dual exhaust

That looks very nice. You could always get some 3/8"id 1/4wall tubing and make your spacers. Nice work.

Excellent work. How do those mufflers sound compared to Flowmasters?

I was going to try to find some pipe somewhere to make a spacer but I just bought a serpentine belt setup so that should fix everything up.

I never used flows but these are quiet at idle and have a deep tone at wot. No raspy sound.
