Finally!!!

My Truck is going in (11 Days), for Interior Paint!
Moved to the Palm Springs area (in So Cal) and found a FANTASTIC shop that does Mechanical and Restoration/Paint work.
I walked in and they had a 64 T-Bird/31 Willys/65 Mustang/V-8 BMW/Slammed 56 f-150.
Think I'm in good company.

Actually YEP, I have it in writing.
I moved down to Southern California.
I asked a local Car Club who'd they recommend for Mechanic/Paint, and this shop came up repeatedly.
I also got to see the work he did on other members cars.
The thing that impressed me, was the quote (just going over the Truck) took almost an hour.
They asked me what I did/didn't want. I told them EVERYTHING I wanted them to do, and then if it was too much, I could scale back from there.
When they were done, I said "PERFECT"....DO EVERYTHING".
It goes into the shop a week from tomorrow (Monday the 10th).
They said barring any unforeseen problems, that it would be approx. 2 weeks.

They'll be pulling ALL the Windows, Painting, and then installing new:
Dash Pad
Carpet Kit
Billet Gauge Cluster
Billet Glove Box
Billet Rear View Mirror.
Painting the Kick Panel Speakers to match
Weather Stripping
All new Window Felts

Then my Son will come up in a couple of weeks to install
the Stereo/Sirius Satellite!

He gave me a $20.00 an hour discount on the Labor (from $80.00 an hour, down to $60.00).
So when all was said and done, it was a $2K discount.
Final Estimate was $2600.00
After seeing his work (paint AND Mechanical), he's got MY Business!

Take pics before it goes in the shop! Otherwise we will never know what it looked like before...

Guys.
My Website should be in my sig.
Go here: http://home.pon.net/wwotr/towing.htm

Scroll down to the "Seat Installation" pics, and it will give you a very clear "Before" status.

Re: Finally!!!

Getting close now. You should post pics of you truck as suggested. When people get a look at it they'll be stoked to see the final results.
I'm biased but that sb GMC looks X2 as good as any chevy could. Can't beat that GMC front end.
It's gonna be nice.

Re: Finally!!!

You say the shop you found is in palm springs? The price sound very reasonable. Are they doing any rust repair or firewall work?

They didn't come out of anything.
Bought them NEW from "Discount Truck and Van" in LA.
$1100.00 for the seats/Console (which doubles as a 3rd seat with Storage) and the subframe which bolts to the OEM seat mounts.

O already did the Rust Repair work to the Interior (slight Surface Rust).
That quote was just for the Interior, to R & R and put all my "Special Goodies" back in.
I'm looking to have them Rhino Line the Bed and relocate the Exhaust up on the side of the Frame, along with a Set of Electric Cut-Outs!

You and me BOTH!
I've been waiting 2 years for trhis.
I bought all the Interior parts.
Then when I FINALLY picked out the Interior color, all of a sudden it was like "OH SH*T"!
Now I have to get the Visors and Dash pad redone to match the paint because most of the companys don't carry what I need.
Thats not even taking into account the Door Panels.
