Lucas Oil Transmissions/Engine fix?

Hi!

Anybody had luck with the Lucas Oil brand? I was at Autozone today and noticed the Lucas Oil Transmission fix. It's supposed to help with the tranmission slipping. My truck kicks into first gear, could the Lucas Oil help?

Also, they have a product which will supposedly stop engine oil leaks. My truck is also leaking oil. Does the Lucas Oil products really work or is it just a waste of money?

The best that you can hope for your oil-burning/leaking situation is to reduce the amount that it burns/leaks. Those additives are not a substitute for bad gaskets/seals. Regardless of what is printed on the label. Those companies have highly-paid peeps that create that verbage and make us think that you can get a complete engine overhaul with one 8-oz can.

As for the transmission, I have used K-W products, think it was Trans-X. Did it help? Don't know. Did it make me feel better? Maybe a little. Did it fix the transmission? Not if it needed parts/seals, etc. Some of those additives may offer shift improvers, but you gotta remember that there are friction-inducing parts that deteriorate over time/miles. I don't think any additive is going to add friction material to the surfaces of any worn parts.

Lucas stuff is good, as long as you're just trying to enhance the lubrication properties of the engine oil.

I used it in a slipping turbo 350. Ran great after that. Not a daily driver and I'm not saying its a permanent fix but it will help you get along until a rebuild is possible.

I have had good luck with Lucas products, My 71 Jimmy was starting to slip pretty bad in reverse and leaking seals, that was 6 years ago. Now the trans is finally going out. Not bad for two bottles of Lucas. The power steering Lucas works real good. Had a 72 Big Block Longhorn, Power steering only work when you turned left, puled the old fluid out, put Lucas in, started to work again. I think it is worth the try.

My 91 Roadmaster wagon was developing a vibration in the trans.

I just changed fluid, added a quart of Lucas trans to it.

Fixed the problem.

I swear by Lucas.

i can say the tranny 'goop' works good. but it might take a while to pour out of the bottle..espisally if its cold out.

my buddy puts the quart in boiling water and it drains much nicer. ive even put it in the microwave

the trans stuff stops my TCC from shudering once per year. I know i need a new Torque converter, but ive been limping it along for 3 years this way,

new fluid and a bottle of lucas a year. Yeah ill have to fix it sooner or later but dont have the cash for an Alison rebuild at the moment

the couple times ive used it it was set on top of the waterjacket on my woodstove for about 30 min. you couldnt pick it up without a welding glove on. it came out quick needless to say
