Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
They aren't reproduced. You'll have to do the search high 'n' low on these.Naturally, the GMCs will be a tougher find.Hubcaps came in painted steel or polished stainless. Then there were the wheelcovers in polished stainless, too.

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
I have a full set on my truck, trust me, they are NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to find. The ones I have were already on it, thank god my great grandpa didn't lose any. Check ebay, you can usually find about one every month or so. Look for 67 and 68 there "almost" the same. '67 gmc painted ones were usually white with black lettering or chrome with black lettering. '68 had white I believe with red, or chrome with red lettering.
Theres one on ebay now, (not mine): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-...#ht_1329wt_939

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
I may be the reason you can't find any Four of these were original to the '67 GMC I have. The rest I found on eBay over the past 6 or 7 years. Sadly, out of all of them, most of them are dented. The nicest ones I have (some of which are NOS) have an inner ring attached to the rear of the cap (see the left cap in the picture on the left). Anyone know what type of wheels those fit?

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
I thought you meant a full hubcap.
I'd love to find some nice original '67 CST spares.

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
In order for those Original caps to fit does the wheels have to be the ones with the clips on them? like original steelies with clips. Those steelies are gonna be hard to find if i want the Original caps too. Same goes with the full cap. I actually leaning towards the full caps over the small.

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
1/2 ton dog dish caps fit nub wheels, 3/4 ton caps need the clips, they are the caps with the extra stepped metal piece on the back. Sharpie

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
Beware of 60's hubcaps, 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton caps look the same from the front, but the back side measurements are different. 3/4 ton caps take an inner ring of 8 3/4" I.D. ( heavy duty 1/2 tons take caps with innner rings at 7 3/4" I.D. ). This necessary to attach to wheel clips. Normal light duty 1/2 tons use the common 10 1/4" I.D. bump style caps. During the 60's 6 lug 1/2 tons came with both the standard bump wheel and wheels with clips.

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
Could you clarify? I'm confused. I see you brought this thread back from October and I wonder what you are referring to. I know '64 Impala,or any '64 Chevy full-size, wheel is not unique and that the outer nub car and truck caps interchange.

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
Oh,ok. Thanks for clarifying. But,I'm pretty sure the clip style hasn't been used on cars since the early '50s and cars have the smaller bolt pattern anyway.

Re: 67 chevy/gmc hub caps???
I'm waiting for my 4th and final (cherry condition) 71 GMC hubcap to arrive now (maybe even today). The first three I got, one by one, on e-bay, the 4th I got from networking on this forum. I'm also about to close the deal on a clean set of OEM type rims (with the nubs for the hubcaps), which I searched for on E-Bay but ended up finding here, just from networking with all the people who are happy to help.
I had saved searches on e-bay that sent me an e-mail every time a new item was listed that matched my search. I started my search for rims and caps in September and (unless something goes wrong) will now have a full set of OEM shoes to replace my white "wagon wheels". Just stay with it and eventually it will all come together. Good luck! |
