Radiator clean up?
Ok not 100% sure it will work but gonna try it since was free. My buddy gave me a free 3 core raditor from his 72 truck. I wanna clean the paint off the pants and respray it. So far got a decent mount of paint off but wanna get tanks clean as possible and prep it correctly. So any tips for me guys I know tanks are bronze and wanna prep and paint correctly. Brandon

Re: Radiator clean up?
Best thing to do is take it to a radiator shop, have them vat it and run a pressure check to check for leaks and it will come out clean and all old paint gone. Tell them not to paint it because you can do it better than them. You do need it checked so you don't do all this and find it is no good.
Hope that helps Paul

Re: Radiator clean up?
For the peace of mind it will be worth it. They can fix anything wrong with it and I bet less than $150.00.

Re: Radiator clean up?
Then go for it!
I wouldn't put a lot of time into making it pretty until I knew it was going to work!

Re: Radiator clean up?
I bought a four core at a local pic and pull about a year ago. Took it to a shop here in town. they cleaned it, checked it, and repaired one small leak for like 30 bucks.

Re: Radiator clean up?
As stated they could fix everything wrong with a radiator for less than $150.00.
Just depends on what they have to do. The radiator is part of the life line of the truck and should have the best you can do to it to make the truck run as long as it can!
