WTB 1 ton rear end
I'm looking for a SINGLE WHEEL 1 ton rear full floater w/ 3:73 gears. I want to change out my 4:11. I have a '72, so I'm pretty sure 73-87 should fit. Due to the size & weight, I'm hoping to find something in Florida so I can pick it up.

Re: WTB 1 ton rear end
I just brought in a 1988 C 3500 single wheel , has a 3.42 dana under it FF
Measure the spring mounts on yours..I will do the same. This truck is pictured in the 88-98 parts board. Its the new body. It may be to far to go.. |

Re: WTB 1 ton rear end
I'll double check for a closer measurement later today. I'm pretty sure my spring mounts are something like 38 inches. I did a Map-Quest look up. Greeneville is 652+ miles from Orlando (where I am).
I sure would appreciate it if you let me know the spring mount measurements. You never know what may work out. Thanks a lot...~John~

Are you sure that's a Dana axle? I would think that it would be a 14 bolt, I thought Danas were only under duallies?

Re: WTB 1 ton rear end
Yes it is a dana axle..I need to pull the cover..everything is coming back to a dana 70 rear end. factory..with drum brakes.
remember in 1988 most tons were the old R/V body style..this is a very strange truck being the new 88 body style with no cab clearance lights ..and is a true 3500 as the 454 was not offered in a 2500 .. 155.5 wheelbase and has a bolt on rear yoke TH400. Heavy duty..truck has 144,000 miles showing .. Will get more pics soon..going to start removing motor later today. |

Re: WTB 1 ton rear end
There's quite a few of the "lighter" C10 trucks running around. I just have to be different and have a C30. Besides, on my days off, she's a working girl hauling scrap metal for me. I'll keep watching this thread, thanks.
