Need remote door locks!
I have been looking for some remote door locks for my truck and have found at least 100 different brands and types. Have any of you had any luck with a particular brand? I dont want to go to all the trouble installing one that turns out to be a turd.
What brands should I look at? Thanks! |

Re: Need remote door locks!
I installed powerlocks in my truck, but I didnt use a kit. I got some of the lock poppers of a 1993 Chevy van that I bought. They work great. You just have to make sure that the lock in your doors move good befoe you instal them. I made a post about it let me see if I can find it...

Re: Need remote door locks!
We installed an aftermarket WILL FIT set up. We also included the alarm to get the added benefit of the remote. They work ok but did take sometime to get the solenoids to move correctly. The travel of the solenoids are much more than the factory lock moves. We also fabricated our own mounting brackets as the brackets that came with the kit were make of very thin material. I will look later tonight to see what brand the kit was and the vendor.
Yes, it is very worth it. Like the remote very much. Good Luck, MrBlue
