A taller tire lowers the gear ratio just like changing the ring and pinion; at least in relation to whatever tire you start with!! Blue Heeler didn't mention the rear ratio so I thought I would mention tire size as something else to figure in when deciding.
All of these trucks are notoriously low geared for highway driving.

Re: Tire size for Rally rims

275/60/15 all 4 corners.
Lowered about 4-6.
No rub.

That's with spring only drop (not recommended, looks great rides like crap). Take into consideration that if you use drop spindles it will move the wheels & tires out 3/4" towards the fender, unless you get "Modular spindles" that only move the wheels & tires out 1/4" per side.

Sorry bout that, the Blue heeler special has the wonderful 4'11 in the rear.
oh i'm just gonna shove a 700r in that money pit. I really thank you guys for all the help. got the rear lights working and drove it all day, then took it to the gas station to put some fuel in it and someone pointed out that i was leaking gas. oh crap another fix. hose came out of fill tube and poured gas inside the cab about a gallon. then drove it home and the radiator started leaking. oh well i guess that how you find the problems. I still love driving that
truck with my dog "Bo" i get the hot rodders checking out the truck.

Re: Tire size for Rally rims

A 700r4 will be great with that rear gear!! Your radiator can be upgraded easily with a Summit generic aluminum (they call them 'race') unit. They just dont have drain petcocks; my only ***** with them.
