I'm wondering if I've got a bad sender or bum wiring between the sender and the gauge (like at the switch or between the switch and selector or switch and gauge.

Thanks!
I kinda have the same prob. i finally traced the fuel gauge wire (was improperly hooked up to the carb? Don't ask the PO was legally blind) and when i hook it up to the gas tank the gauge reads way past full.but if i ground the wire on the chassis the gauge reads empty.. any one have any thoughts? Sorry to thread jack.

if it's connected and reads past full check the connections the sending unit wire is off somewhere else
