Re: truck wieght?

3,775 lbs for a '78 c10 long box fleetside with a V8 according to Chevrolet Pickups 1973 to 1998 by John Gunnell. The book says a '77 is 3,973 lbs, but does not say what engine and lists a 6.5 ft fleetside box under the 131.5 inch wheel base. The book also does not list whether or not the truck has A/C or duel fuel tanks. The extra 200 lbs could come from those items.

Re: truck wieght?

Is that 83 a 4x4 ? I have been looking for the weight. 83 1/2 ton 4x4 fully loaded 10 bolt rears. Dual tanks and AC.

Re: truck wieght?

Whats the GVW rating on the VIN label? That'll help to more closely figure out what it weighs.

depending on 4x2 or 4x4, it could weigh from 3900# to 4600lbs or so.

My 87 2wd v8 dual Tank silverado (light duty suspension) weighed about 4200-4300lbs. (dunno how full the tanks were.)

Figure on with no further info, your truck weighs between 3900lbs and 4900lbs.
