How do I remove coil springs with crossmember removed from truck
I have the whole cross member removed and i need to know what to do to remove the coil springs without tearing off my head. Thanks. Wayne

Are you replacing the ball joints?
I took the castle nut off the bottom ball joint, flipped the nut over and put it back on until flush with the bolt. Then I smacked it a few times with a BFH and POP! Then you can loosen the ubolts and castle nut until the lower arm pops free. Most of the tension is out at the point, so it won't go flying off.

Rent a coil spring compresor from tha parts store..that is tha safe way to do if you wanna use them over.

Figure out what your head is worth, THEN rent/borrow a GOOD spring compressor. If you do not intend to reuse the spring, I would cut them into pieces with a torch.
