67-c50 soon to be long bed
Been lurking around here lately i am a 60-66 dude but have wanted a 67-72 truck for a while and found this super clean one owner flat bed hay truck and would like to build a topkick style truck, the interior is super clean untouched and so is under the hood 327 , 4 speed with a two speed rear end and runs and drives great, plans are to shorten the frame and install a 67- long bed on it with some 24inch semi wheels.i have enough lower stuff and have know plans on lowering it,i think i am going to install factory side trim also , i found a rough doner truck to mock up the bed with, i am going to find a cleaner bed,i removed the flat bed and extra big side tank and cut about 4 foot off the rear of the frame, the truck barely fits in my back yard

Re: 67-c50 soon to be long bed
Awesome project Dino! I have been wanting to do one of these for a long time but I can't even find time to put my 1/2 ton together. A newer Kodiak front axle should fit right under it and give you both discs and 10 lug hubs for the wheels you are planning to use. The cool thing about these trucks is the frame is just straight c-channel so its easy to just move the spring mounts forward. You might even be able to relocate the rear hanger to the front hanger spot for easy locating. Will be following the build!

Re: 67-c50 soon to be long bed
That's going to be sweet! Nice to see a medium-duty truck being used, instead of stripped for it's motor and the rest crushed like I see happening alot... I know it's the wrong style, but I just have to share this link with you: http://www.bangshift.com/gallery/Gol...0-gallery.html

Re: 67-c50 soon to be long bed
Are you thinking of a Semi size wheels on this? I can measure the wheels on my Pete. Would a sub-frame from a later dually graft on or just not wide enough? I really like the slammed with real big wheels look... this will be coool!!!

Re: 67-c50 soon to be long bed
so that long bed was a "rough donor"? u guys got it so good hehe
you gonna air ride this truck? I always thought about using a c-50/60 cab/nose on a jacked up 4x4. would take a little frame modding for that idea, also thought about doing a blazer with that nose, need the firewall out of the 50/60 for that too. good luck with this project!
