I'm actually getting ready to cut out the step notch. I'm going across between the rear axle and shocks with tubing and spreading the notch further apart so I can reduce the width of my wheel well (to get more bed room). It'll take a couple extra days to cut, weld in the new notch and repaint but atleast all three of my dogs will fit in the bed when we go for a ride! The step notch came from KP Components, along with my suspension and watts link. The new notch may not need to be quite as tall. It came from the factory like that. It's so I can drop the bed all the way to the ground with the notch clearing the rear axle. I've done more work to it but haven't taken more pics yet.
