72 bedside toolbox mystery cargo

So ive had the 72 for a couple of months and the po said he never had the keyfor the toolbox and he owned it for awhile.So i Got a wild hair and drilled it out. Could some one tell me what this contraption is?

It's a jack and handle to turn it. People used to use those things to lift cars and trucks up when tires would go flat.

It's a 1940's car lift. You simply slip it under the frame and "voila" you can lift your vehicle high enough into the air to replace the tranny or walk around under the vehicle to do complete bushing inspections without hitting your head on the underside of said vehicle.

The high end exhaust shops used them back in the day, as did some foreign exotics like Porsche. I also believe Speed Racers infamous and highly regarded Mach-5 had them installed with an interior deployment switch. Did you managed to locate that as well?

That is truly a rare option and I believe you've managed to triple the selling price of your truck in the future. Congrats on a super find!!!!!
