Re: vender wiring kit

I got the American Auto Wire kit from one of the board vendors. Right this second though I cant remember who it was (big help huh?).

I read a ton of great reviews here and on the HAMB from people that have used their kits, all were very good. I believe this is the one I have (not installed yet) http://www.americanautowire.com/69-72truck.html But doing a quick read through I dont see the ignition switch and key in there and mine has that in the kit too.

Re: vendor wiring kit

He had a sale for board members ... but you are correct its still kinda pricey. I just didnt want to ever worry bout weird electrical problems down the road.

Watch the parts section, guys often sell kits of one type or another they dont end up using. Maybe even post a want to buy over there?

Just remember...you get what you pay for...the AAW one is complete with all connectors etc....I've heard very good stuff about them here as well...check ebay for them...seen them cheaper there.....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-72...Q5fAccessories

I used the painless one ($385), but still had to splice in a few connectors...good thing I had my old harness

so for $100 more you get a complete and very nice harness....JMHO

Re: vendor wiring kit

AAW offers a complete upgrade kit, it has the expanded fuse, hei, one wire alt, ignition with keys, and a hook up so you can disconnect your gauges easily. It's very clear how to install, packaged well with heaps of support.
Well worth it IMO.

Re: vendor wiring kit

I've been shopping wiring harnesses too. Best price on the painless kit I found is $370 here:
www.autopartsdealer.com

Looks like the AAW kit has a couple switches added in, but I don't think that makes it worth the $160 extra.

AAW also fit the truck. Painless requires alterations. WES

Re: vendor wiring kit

just a question, does anyone know where the best price is for these and other wiring kits? I know last year a board vendor had a group buy that didnt turn out real well, just because of the vendor fell on some bad times and these are basically made to order.
