How do you know if?

When it comes to the Pos & Neg battery cables, do we need a cable with the fusible link or not?
If so what cable needs it and why?

Re: How do you know if?

on a neg ground system the positive terminal uses a fusable like as a safty devise to prevent short circuit from burning the vehicle to the ground with an electrical fire

Re: How do you know if?

The fuseable link is usually in the lead fro^^ the junction box on the fender that runs across the top of the core support and feeds the fuse block and ignition.

As Cdowns said it is there to protect everything else.

Re: How do you know if?

Thanks,
but just so I am sure... you are saying our trucks have a neg ground system, so I need a pos cable with a fuse link to the junction box on the fender.
And the neg cable does not need fuse link.
