Best vent window replacement options.
I got my first C-10 yesterday from California. First thing I noticed is the vent window will not shut. The molding stops it. I searched and read for an hour or more and I gathered the concensus is to replace the vent window is the easiest thing for most with the best results.
I did see a thread or two mention some of the replacements can rust pretty easy. I was wondering what would be the best option? I dont want to deal with trying to figure out how to replace all the rubber myself and end up with poor results. thanks everyone. Looks like I will be asking a lot of questions soon. I will make sure I search first! EDIT- It is a 1970. Last edited by t76turbo; 02-01-2011 at 10:46 AM. Reason: Just in case year matters. |

Re: Best vent window replacement options.
LMC and others sell the rebuilt vent assy, however, you might need to re-mortgage your house to pay for them. rebuilding them isnt all that hard, I would get some real good rubber replacement seals from Steele Rubber Products and go for it, just pay attention when you take them apart.

Re: Best vent window replacement options.
Other than cost, is there a downfall to the assemblies sold by LMC or others?
