Eng miss high rpms

My engine seems to miss when I punch it or when it kicks into passing gear If I stay in it it goes away what could this be?

could be a problem with your distributor, if you still have points system check the points condition or setting or could also be the condensor and or coil or cap or rotor condition,when was the last time you tuned it up last time you changed plugs,plug wires ???these things do need routine maintenance better to change things on a schedule than to wait for them to fail

My Model A had a slight miss around 160 mph, but getting rid of the Mallory Unilite and switching to a marine HEI fixed it.

My dirt track car has the same problem but it sounds like a stutter box at the end of the straight away when it's turning about 6700 RPM. I don't know whats wrong with it any ideas?
