Fuel tank pick up

What size is the pick tube on a 80 Chev truck? Would it be 3/8"? If so has anyone ever taken one appart and put in a 1/2 pick up?

Re: Fuel tank pick up

How much motor is in it?

U will need a pretty awesome motor to need more than a 3/8th pick up. My buddies 67 camaro runs 7.0 eighth mile with a stock tank and pickup.

Re: Fuel tank pick up

For that kind of power I would do a fuel cell and a good pump.

Re: Fuel tank pick up

I agree but it's not a drag set up and I would prefer keeping the stock tank.

Re: Fuel tank pick up

How did you end up modifying your existing tank? I want to keep my stock tank as well but run a 1/2" line for an E85 engine.
