Two pistons per cylinder and two stroke. Does that make it functionally a single stroke engine? Headache

That engine might get 100mpg in a small vehicle but the theoretical max for any full size vehicle is around 30-40 mpg. It takes that much energy just in wind resistance to keep it moving at 60mph even if the vehicle itself is perfectly efficient.

Are they saying it's a 2-stroke diesel? If so,I wonder what they'll do to get it by emissions standards. I know the horizontally opposed cylinder engine seems to be capable of more from less than any other design I know in cars. It's the perfect I push/counter pull design.

So the pistons close onto each other, which then becomes the combustion chamber. Wow, if they can keep the vibration down, and pass omissions, wow, I'm impressed. My mind is in overtime trying to picture how it works, and trying to figure out why it won't.

For 100mpg, as long as the turbo has a nice whistle I'll be happy
