Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
They LOOK like they would work. But my opinion does not really count due to my headers that looked like they would fit but they hit everything even remotely close to my truck. If they do fit i may ge a set one day.

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
thanks mac. I really wanted to keep everything between the frame rails...but since I'll be staying with a static drop in the front, even if/when I bag the rear, it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
Kurt, from your pics it seem you had to notch the drivers side frame to make the the Rh header fit, did you do any mod(s) to the passanger side?

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
nope...didn't have to notch a thing...but if I don't replace my motor mounts with solid mounts and a mid plate.... I'll need to trim them just slightly on the tubes that have the "Dynatech" tab welded to them.
That said...if I moved the motor all the way back against the firewall they'd clear fine.

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
68GMCCustom, very nice! Would you happen to know the p/t #? I was wondering what you think the height is from the exhaust port to the lowest point as well. I have a PB cross member so I am hoping that these might hang about flush with the bottom of the frame rail. Thanks

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
its looks like they'll work with a little trimming but they may hang down to low past the frame

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
part# is 115-909400 (30C)....but they do hang below the frame by a few inches.
....not sure if the 30C is needed at the end of that part number btw.

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
I think the only time you'd have a problem is driving aired out.If you look at his pics no.6 shows how far below the rails they hang.It also depends if your using drop spindles W/ your drop member,I am not & they still look to close for me

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
if it hit something....I'd probably loose the oil pan before the headers.

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
Don't mean to highjack the thread, but mac72, your running a DM correct? It's been a while since I order mine, but thought it raised the motor something in the range of 2". Is that right or am I just telling myself this so I'll order these headers, lol.
Mac72, are the DT's 1&5/8" ?

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
Kurt,Thats what I was thinking but looking at your pic no.7 it looks to be about a .5" further back than yours. It may be up higher though like big shoe stated. If you remember that post on the high hump I think mines a little higher in the bay Hmmmm.
bigshoe24,My crossmember is from suicide doors but it does look like the early porterbuilt units & I didnt inquire about wether or not it raised the mtr. or not.The mounts are ls specific & it fits although it is tight at the front of the pan & the crossmember. Some of this has to do w/ the tranny crossmember placement also. Yes the dt's are 1 5/8" they are nice headers but the drivers rear tube hit my firewall. |

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
Very tempted to order these. I'm going to call Dynatech and see what the difference is between the 70'-81' camero and the 67'-69' . The p/t # you gave matches the 67' -69' btw

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
mine are the 1 7/8" x 3" coated... I bought from Speedway, off this page:
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/NEW-Dy...LS2,41927.html If you go to the Dynatech page you'll see that they also offer various stepped headers also but for sbc. http://www.afabcorp.com/AFCO_Dynatec...uscle_camaro70 ....but they only offer the 1.88" (actually 1 7/8") in 2.5" on their page....so obviously the 03C on Speeday's refers to a 3" coated header...since they show 025C is 2.5". only this one (mine but 2.5" reducers) is listed as LSX and is not stepped...others are for sbc: 115-90940025C 1.88 LSX 70-81 Camaro Hdr Coated w/2.5" Reducers $399.99 and here are the '67-'69 numbers: 115-91140025C 1.88 LSX 67-69 Camaro/68-74 Nova Hdr Coated w/2.5 Reducer $399.99 115-91140030C 1.88 LSX 67-69 Camaro/68-74 Nova Hdr Coated w/3.0 Reducer $399.99

Re: Dynatech MuscleMaxx Headers
I wonder what the difference between the 67-69 vs. 70-81 camaro headers? If it's the same part number then I assume it's the exact same part. Are there no other swap headers that will fit these trucks?
