Quick Brake Booster Question

I am putting a power brake booster on my truck. I read on a previous thread that tapping into the vacuum fitting on the intake runner can lead to burning a valve/piston if the booster has a leak, so you want to tap into vacuum at the carb base.

The only tap I have on the carb base has the PCV hose going to it.

Would I be OK tapping between the PCV valve and the carb (T fitting), or could it cause problems with the booster?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Quick Brake Booster Question

is there a port on the back of the carb that has a plug in it you can remove and use?

Re: Quick Brake Booster Question

I don't see a port back there (should be large 3/8" or so I thought). Just the one on the front that the PCV goes into.

Q-jet carb.

Thanks

Re: Quick Brake Booster Question

I tapped it into the PCV for now and will leave it unless I get info that it is hazardous.

I will say, power brakes are a very nice option to have.
