ID My Truck

Noobie here,

Just bought this from my aunt who needed money and I have always liked her truck, so we made a deal. She says it is a 69. Title says it is a 69 but after a 'little' research I have found this may not be accurate.

The VIN starts with a 'C' which I think means 2wd but this is definitely a 4x4. So somebody made a swap. Leaf springs front and rear
CS148A103398

The parking brake is hand operated which I think was supposed to be foot operated started in 68. Also the Rear view mirror is located on the roof instead of the windshield.

It has a 'crate' motor in it that she says is 2-3 years old. After looking it over it appears to be a lot more that just a couple years old.

Tried uploading picture but got an error so I have a linked to my fquick and photobucket accounts. Hopefully they cab be seen there easy til I get them uploaded here.

69-70 grill, 67-68 hand brake, 71-72 steering wheel, looks like you have a mutt like most the rest of us!

Welcome to the board from Rolla, MO! The landscape doesn't look familiar, is the truck located elsewhere?

Re: ID My Truck

I figured it was a scab together. The truck is at my shop right now, Pratt's Lawn and Garden here in Rolla across from Lowe's

Oh yeah. Know exactly where that is! Bought several blades for my Cub there. Congrats on the purchase and if you need anything let me know.

Re: ID My Truck

If for some reason you want to part with it, please keep me in mind. Hope it's ok if I stop up there sometime and take a look at it and meet you?

You'll find this site is pretty darn useful and has some really knowledgable people. It gets kind of addicting!

Re: ID My Truck

Looks like a target master 350 engine replacement motor (think but not 100%)

originally a 4x2, six cylinder, 1/2 ton, 1968, Atlanta,

Roger

Re: ID My Truck

It looks to me like someone took a 6cyl '68 body and put on a 4wd frame. If it's just two trucks combined I'd say the '69 was the 4wd. Does it have drum or disc brakes up front? Neither 68 or 69 had automatic trans and that's what throws me. maybe the body is a mix of 68 and 69 while the 4wd frame is later.
