Had this a few months ago, it was a broken U-joint.

climb under and grab the driveline and see how much movment there is.. an inch ok! three inches not so much.. CHECK THE RUBBER AROUND THE BERING second start it when its running put it in gear if it clunks OR SQUEEKS its a ujoint

My money is on the center support bearing being worn out...

wldcat10 - I really didn't mean anything offensive by what I said in my last post if it read that way, I was just confused and trying to help you figure it out. a vibration / shake in the passenger front could mean other things than a vibe coming from under the truck or in the steering wheel. These guys are absolutely right. U-Joint, carrier bearing, or possibly both. If the truck is not lowered, the pinion angle will not be an issue.

Oh no I didn't take it that way. No worries! And thanks for your help! Might have to check that out if its not the wheels needing balanced.

Wheels being out of balance won't cause a shake shimmy or vibration at that low of speeds just My 2 cents but I believe you have a driveshaft/carrier bearing problem. if you don't know what your looking for get it to a trustworthy shop and have them look at it.

Yes, I had a friend in high school who's front u-joint let go and the drive shaft dropped to the pavement. .. and dug in. It made him lose control and the truck side swiped a tree.. it can get nasty if the drive shaft comes out. Take it in and let someone take a look at it as soon as you can.

Yea I am with most here with checking the driveshaft/u-joints and what not. I had on my 64 that same project with the shaking. I forgot to tie my ujoints and man was that something of a ride. Well hope you get it figured out so thats one thing less to worry about. Enjoy

Ok I said I would keep everyoone updated on the problem. I just got back from getting new tires. I guess the Balancing took care of it because there is no more shake!!!

I'm guessing it was missing a wheel weight, but I forgot to ask before i left. I'm really happy and its another thing I can check off the list! Here's how it sits with the new rubber 235/75/15. Now just need to get ready for paint.

Sometimes you get lucky and it's the cheapest/easiest thing to fix. It's always good to try that first.
