Ammeter Guage rating
Does anyone know the amperes rating of the stock guages?

I am guessing 37 A as that is the stock rating of the alternator. The ammeter is a shunted ammeter that reads the voltage drop across the wire from the power wire junction in front of the drivers inner fender to the terminal block on the pass side fender. In brief it's range can be altered by picking two points on the wire you want to measure amperage that have the same maximum voltage drop between them at max alternator amperage and then tapping the stock amp gauge in at those points. It will take some serious experimenting to determine the two points.
