Spindle and Shackled Truck Pics?
I'm looking at seeing what our trucks look lowered on 2.5 Spindles, and a shackled rear end...... 2x4 drop pretty much is what I'm refering to. I'd appreciate it. Post those pics men!! thanks.

Mine is 2.5/4 with spindles/drop leaf springs in these pics:

Re: Spindle and Shackled Truck Pics?
Thanks, I'm wondering if I should 4.5x6 then? I would like to be a little lower than yours but not drag. Here is how my truck sits now.

Re: Spindle and Shackled Truck Pics?
I like your truck. Nice!
Keep in mind that mine has new springs front and rear. If you use your old coils and leaves, it will likely sit a little lower than mine. Most folks on here say a flip kit in the back with spindles and springs in the front makes for a good driving truck. I'm sure it would look good like that, plus flip kits are cheap and don't require you to cut your bed supports like the drop shackles do (unless you have the longer springs, which will clear the bed supports...). Re: Spindle and Shackled Truck Pics?
I would start with a 4/6 and go from there. Spindles, cut a coil from the front springs (or do drop springs), and a flip kit is a great start. If you want to go lower, cut more off of the springs and add shackles to the rear. My '79 was about 4.5/6, and I liked it. My '74 is closer to 6/8, and I like it even more. It takes a little getting used to, but I wouldn't change it a bit.

Re: Spindle and Shackled Truck Pics?
That's my '79. I bought the drop from CPP, and it was Western Chassis stuff. 2.5" spindles, 1 coil cut from the spring, rear flip kit. I used shock extenders in the rear so I could run the stock shocks. I also did the C-notch, but mostly because it came with the flip kit. I did the notch about a month after the drop. There wasn't much problem with clearance, but it also gave me a chance to clean up the bottom of the frame and bed. There are some pictures in my album of the truck next to my '74, when it was Scoti's. Scoti helped me with the drop, before we traded trucks. The '74 has shackles on the rear, and more spring cut. It's about 2" lower all around.

Re: Spindle and Shackled Truck Pics?
My truck has lowering springs in the front I believe due to all the spacers used to get into alignment. Dropping the rear but not sure how much. Want to get the front set before deciding on rear. Do you guys have problems with header to ground clearance? Mine look to be about 6" off the ground. And how badly is the ride effected? Lastly, I will be using this as a daily driver and probably be towing with this truck. Has anyone run into shorter air shocks to help out once lowered?

Re: Spindle and Shackled Truck Pics?
You should lower it 6/8.
