Not a stupid question at all but the main difference is load capacity and physical size.
Typically you use a 2600 on the fronts of these trucks and some guys use 2500lbs on the rear. I usually use the 9000 tapered sleeve bags on the REAR of pick up trucks I do for a better ride quality. If you plan to do any towing the 2500 or even 2600's would be a better choice.

I would suggest 2600# for the front, alot of guys use 2500lb or 2600lb for the rear(I don't use either). I use the 9000 series, I have some of those but they are $75 each
