Does anybody make a houndstooth buddy bucket material? So far all I've found is the original vinyl. thanks

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
Also, is the truck shop that place that redoes the woodgrain door panel inserts for 72s? I want to just restore the original door panels rather than go with new ones. I know somebody on here had a dash bezel, glovebox, and the door panel inserts redone for like $500 or something. thanks again

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
Awhile back I did a google search for houndstooth material on line found someone who deals with it but they were asking $275 a yard. Thought that was too expensive. You can get houndstooth covers for BB seats for $300-$400 price range.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
Thanks. To do a set up nice you need new quality foam. Which if you order a good set of foam runs about $500.(thru board vendor)
My covers were discounted because they had a very minor imperfection that was un-noticable unless it was pointed out for $230 shipped. (non board member) Then had a local guy do the work. The seats are so extremley comfortable compared to the bench. The trick I think is in the foam to be honest a 350 mile trip doesn't bother the tail bone like before. And I had good foam/springs on my bench. But it is very easy to wind up with a grand or more in BB's. I don't regret it when I'm driving for a few hours.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
We redo all of our seats, so just manual labor no cost. I like the idea of the buddy buckets way more than the 71-72 buckets(which I have just want the optional third seat).

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
hey there Sammy. I have a bench seat that I am wanting to do in green& black Hounds tooth. Could I bother you for a closer look at your seats please. All I have is picture in a book that is black and white , it's hard for me to imagine what it looks like in real color.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
Here are a few pics. The colors are actually the same between the BB's and bench.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
Try Rick's in Columbia, TN. I have talked to them about doing a set of buddy buckets for my 68. They appear to do good work and will make the covers and ship them to you. The web site is www.ricksupholstery.com.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
Yes, Ricks is the company I used for both the bench seat and the my BB's in green houndstooth. And I contacted them thru their website got responses back from them in a very timely manner. I think his wife does all the work. Plus they sometimes sell on ebay. As far as quality or workmanship I am very pleased and their customer service is good.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
I bought my covers through Frank. I bought the foam through classic industries.

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
This set I ordered from one of the board vendors and they were drop shipped to me. That was two years ago I think. When I took them out of the boxes I looked up the Company on the west coast they didn't sell except thru a vendor. They wasn't cheap but they were very top notch quality. The other set of BB's I have are original foam. As far as I can tell from the marking date printed. Since they were not crumbling or torn I didn't replace the foam. I can tell a slightly lower difference in comfort. Especially in the seat bottom itself. I had heard only one USA Co. made the cold formed BB foam. But that there are imports of lesser quality. Probably get what you pay for..

Re: Buddy Bucket Seat Covers
I may not have been clear on these.
I am a distributor for covers and both USA or import foams. I sell all of these. Shop around, check prices and then give me a call or PM. Thanks again, Frank |
