Oh man those wraparound windshields are one of the major reasons I love these trucks. Nothing says old truck like wraparound glass. It's got that 60's look and the 50's flair. Yeah baby. That's a good looking truck right there amigo. Can't wait to see more of it.

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
A 65 I recently picked up to replace the 68 I sold I while ago. Original 283 with what I was told is a TH400.

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
This is the 63 K20 step side that I sold. It had 19,000 original miles on it. It was our towns brush truck for the longest time. I end up selling it to a guy in Georgia. Just didn't have the time for it then. I wish I hadn't now. I am contemplating getting a 64-66 short bed 2wd now for a project.

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
I saw this truck at a tire shop. It was just finished. I asked him if he was going to show it. He said "no, just going to drive it"

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
Just installed these 2010+ Suburban seats into my '66. The second row is a late model 3rd row. It just barely clears the tubbed wheel wells. Best of all it gives me shoulder belts for kids sitting in the rear. I used the 10+ factory brackets and cut holes in the plywood floor for clearance. Then I used heavy sheet steel on the bottom to plug the holes and provide secure mounting for the bracket bolts. The brackets are almost flush with the floor, and the seats fold and tumble (and pull out) when I need the extra storage.
In the front I offset the passenger seat another 3" (it is already offset about 2" stock) to give better access to the rear. The seats are power and installation was pretty straightforward. The only surprise was finding 21 existing seat mounting holes in the driver's floorpan! Apparently this truck has had a lot of different interiors through the years. I welded the extra holes to prevent rust. New suspension is going on later this week. Will post pics of the results once I get that done (and wash the poor truck.) |
