Corp 14 bolt questions.
I have a 14 bolt out of a 3/4 ton truck with 3.73's in it and I have another one out of a dually with 4.56's in it.
The question is if I can take the gears out of the dually housing and put them in the truck housing. Both are in good shape and both are complete. I know the dually housing has some differences externally but will the gears interchange?

Re: Corp 14 bolt questions.
Thanks. Would you know if you need a housing spreader to get the career out? I'd like to do it myself if I can.

Re: Corp 14 bolt questions.
I'm not sure how to go about switching the gears myself but I do have a corp 14 bolt question if you dont mind.
Mine is a 10.5" ffa w/ 4.10 gears but I can't find out for sure whether it is an open diff, lsd or gov lock. I believe its open but am not experienced enough to tell and i dont have a jack to lift it and spin the wheels. Is it possible to tell visually? I've done extensive searching and have come up blank :/ I would like to know so I know what type of lubricant to put in there. Here are a couple of pics.. thanks guys.

Re: Corp 14 bolt questions.
Just swap the hubs and brakes out between the two the axle tubes are the same width.

Re: Corp 14 bolt questions.
But the spring pads aren't, right? I'd rather just swap the gears then cut the spring pads off and relocate them.

Depending on your skills and tools, I would prob just cut and change perches. Good time to correct pinion angle if lowered of lifted Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Corp 14 bolt questions.
Thanks again for your impute. Think I'll just do that, cut the perches off. The dually rear end is in better shape anyways.

Re: Corp 14 bolt questions.
Thanks for everyone's impute on this but I had a big change in plans. I'm going to convert my 84 DRW to SRW and build my child hood dream of having a monster truck.
So I'm going to sell these axles for funding. Thanks again for your impute.
