Dropmember pinion angles?
Hey guys i just got done installing my cab on my square body. I have a porterbuilt dropmember newest version. I am running a vortec 350/4L60E. Now when i set up the drive train in the truck i set the pinion angle at i believe 3 degrees now when i put the cab on it hit the tranny and keeping the cab up about 2" in the front lucky i dropped the tranny x member down so i had room for my exhaust. I was able to take out the spaced i had in and that left me with enough room to drop the cab on. Now i through the angle finder on the motor intake and it was showing about 8 degrees. Is this normal? what are you guys running for pinion angels?
Thanks, Billy Motor with spacers installed while making my Y pipe

Re: Dropmember pinion angles?
I asked Nathan about this when trying to determine possible mods to my trans x-member on the chassis for my 64. He recommended 5° @ the trans. Once I started playing around w/that specific target, it was apparent drive-line angles would be needing a 2pc shaft set-up or a CV set-up. I would call him & run your specific combination of parts by him & see what he suggests.
For my set-up, I raised the trans so it's about 2.X° & left the pinion for the truck-arm rear 'as-is' (approx 2.2° down). This put my 1pc d.shaft @ about a .4° declining slope from the trans to the pinion @ ride height. This required floor mods but I think that's better vs. other options. It was definitely the cheaper choice.

Re: Dropmember pinion angles?
Thanks SCOTI I talked to him a little before and he said there shouldnt be any mod need to the floor, but at this point its not looking good! I hope he will chime in and give some input!
