Why a 3/5 drop and not a 3/3 drop?
Why is it that the rear drop is always greater than the front? Is it because everyone who wants a drop wants to "level" the truck? That would make sense except people who do a 3/5 drop or 4/6 drop then put 20" rear and 18" front wheels on which puts the same 2" rake back on the truck that the uneven drop took out. Someone please tell me the reasons for this. Thanks

Re: Why a 3/5 drop and not a 3/3 drop?
I would say personal preference.
I like the "level" stance and 20's all around. (I don't like the look of 18's up front. My opinion) If I would install 20's and 22's,... I would lower the rear more,... to keep it level. Everyone is different.

You pretty much hit it on the head by saying people want to level the truck.
Typically these trucks are 2 inches higher in the rear than the front. Its really all personal preference on how much to drop.

The difference in the 18&20" wheel size does not necessarily mean 2" of rake as it will be the diameter of the tire that will effect the rake.

As well as the amount the wheel/tire combo 'tucks' into the fender....

Well all that makes sense I guess. It jsut seemed self defeating to me a different wheel size. I guess I was thinking same size sidewall would be used.

Re: Why a 3/5 drop and not a 3/3 drop?
i really dont like a level vehicle or matched front and rear tires have always prefered the oldschool rake of nose down// ecpecially with a truck as i've always used as a truck and carried substantial loads on a regular basis long distances and it's annoying driving a nose up vehicle hundreds of miles//add the fact that big wide front tires affect the ability to manuver and turn radius
build as you want and need is a very important concept
