Thumbs down CPP one more time...

Well, I obviously don't learn

Bought a too good to be true billet steering wheel with black leather half wrap, horn button, and adapter for 110 with free shipping from CPP's ebay store.

Took several attempts at requesting an amount to have them add the horn button and adapter to the invoice....first time they tried to charge me 25 extra. Finally got that straight and paid as soon as they sent me a correct invoice (5 days after winning the item)

Get my email confirming they shipped out only to notice that the steering wheel is listed as a blemish....so I hop on ebay to check it out...and sure enough....they have EDITED their ad to show it is a blemished item. HOWEVER, I have the original ad that says nothing of being blemished and says NEW and how great of deal it is.

I emailed them to tell them they will be sending me a NON-blemished NEW wheel at no charge and a return label for them to pay the expense of returning the blemished wheel. We will see how they handle this, but in my book they already failed (Again) as a company by shipping a blemished product without informing me.

Re: CPP one more time...

I will, I just wanted to see how they handle it first before having to get him involved...but the point is he shouldn't have to be involved since they never should have done this in the first place

1) charging me more initially for the horn button and adapter (when I requested the invoice I put a copy of the ad stating their cost in it)
2) Taking a week to get me a correct invoice to actually pay them
3) shipping a blemished product when a quality part was advertised

we'll see. I'll keep everyone up to date on the saga...

Re: CPP one more time...

They have emailed me back saying for me to check out the wheel when it comes in and if I'm not happy they'll send a call tag and send a new wheel. I can't see how I'll be happy with a blemished wheel, but we will see....

Why should you have to go through all of this?
I don't understand all the pain that CPP puts it's customers through.

Exactly...POOR customer service. I would have let the customer know I was sending a new wheel at my expense to include a call tag in the box....or more than likely just have let them do what they wanted with the blemished wheel due to their inconvenience.

I keep on giving them a chance and one time it will be okay and the next time I'm burned. I'm a sucker for a good deal....I can deal with a little extra time getting things right. IF i was ever on a deadline to get something finished I would NOT use CPP because I would have no faith they'd get it right in the time I had.

Man, I feel baaaad for you guys that have to order stuff from them

If I were ordering something from them, I would deal with Jeff exclusively as he seems to be the only one who gives a s%*^ about board members here.

Again, I live down the street from them and have always had good knowledgeable customer service at the counter as well as getting quality parts.

I agree with lolife, you should not have to go through all of this. Hope it gets straightened out soon.

Re: CPP one more time...

I would never pay retail from them, I just check ebay and when a deal pops up I jump on it. Got all my brake/ suspension parts from them for almost 1/2 what they list them for because they were returned and couldn't sell as new. Had a small issue with that order but they corrected it.
This steering wheel I've seen for no less than 199 plus 50 to steal the horn button and adapter (go for as much as 200 themselves). plus, they included an adapter and smooth horn button.....total of 110 shipped to me...so 400 worth of stuff for 110. I'm willing to handle a little frustration

Just to be clear, selling things cheap is no excuse for poor customer service....I'm not saying that which is why I started the post anyways....I'm just saying I can live with the poor customer service as long as they make it right in the end and I still get a killer deal

Re: CPP one more time...

Ok i remember this. This was a total cluster fu... This was a legit mistake and this customer was the first customer to buy one before we put blemmish. The ebay dept even informed us in the sales dept that one sale got through before we were able to correct the ebay auction. Guys this is a negative topic that we can turn into a positive, for $110.00 order the wheel packages this is a killer deal and half of the wheels i looked at were far from blems. Let me know how this plays out with this transaction. Figures on of my bros from the board was a the guy who got this auction.

Re: CPP one more time...

As I mentioned it was a great deal and the wheel wasn't that bad but the chrome looked bad and I didn't figure it would hold up to daily use as I planned it. I have yet to see the $75 refund. I understand that you guys want the wheel back first but that policy is not customer friendly. ....I should have had my money back by now to buy another wheel.

In honesty, I should have been entitled to a non-blem wheel at the price I purchased it at since that is what I bought. That is the part that really bugs me. When there is a mistake made make it right....if you don't want to make it right...don't compound the bad experience by taking forever to refund me.

I am not really sure of what transpired here but what i will guarantee is that if you check your paypal your refund has been processed. I would gladly have also honored that request of giving you a non blem wheel for the price of a blem.

Bro i made sure the refund was handled. I want to say something but i want to be careful not to sound offensive because we all bust are butts for are $$$ so i understand your frustrations but when it comes to this stuff you guys just need to contact me i am not saying you guys over exagerate because money is hard to come by in 2010 but i can fix all these issues, unless its out of line. I am not promoting getting bad service by any means but CPP is a very easy going company.

Last windshield gasket I got from them was about 20% too big.

Re: CPP one more time...

Well, I put myself in y'alls shoes today. I bought an adjustable panhard bar from CPP on ebay because of the fantastic deal, and it is being shipped to my house. I live 40 mins. from their shop and have always had great service at the counter, but read many horror stories when it comes to having parts shipped. I'll let you know how it goes...

Thumbs up Re: CPP one more time...

Got my panhard bar yesterday, very nice! I was expecting a gold-cad colored bar. I got one powdercoated in black with both ends being adjustable...which was better than I expected.

I am keeping my fingers crossed...I just bought a set of 5" rear drop shocks for $38 from them on Ebay! They have a paint blem, so they were being sold at just over 50% off

Here is the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...0833&viewitem=
