Re: Show me your rears!
Does it go over that crossmember (on the outside covering it up), or butt up against the bottom of it?

Re: Show me your rears!
The notch is just for the plate cutout right? I was about to order one and was wondering the same about the mounting.

Re: Show me your rears!
The ones that I have mount on the outside of the crossmember about 1" below the tailgate and the bottom return on the bed sides that little 1/2" lip.
I think I boutght them from LMC.

Re: Show me your rears!
I haven't decided what I am going to do with mine. This is how it looked the day I picked it up from the previous owner. I have since changed the rearends, and got rid of the 8lug,and now 5lug,S10 4wd,373gears, now. Lot of good ideas I have saw, that might go with. The bright Winter mint,is 53 I had about 4yrs ago, unfortunately,I had to sell her, never the same, had to try and get another one,I guess it gets in your blood. So the blue 51,is what I have now. The journey continues!

Re: Show me your rears!
I'm in the process of designing mine now...
There's a guy here in town building the same truck as me and has taken a liking to my design. So, I'm doing the drawing and fab and he's doing the laser cutting. Basically it's a roll pan design with a cutout for the license plate. On either side of the plate are extending (outward) tribal flames. I intend to take the cut section, slide it to the background, shift it down 1/8" and reweld it... leaving a 3D sort of cutout... will post pics when I'm done... Cheers, Ted. PS Keeping the tail lights out of it...

Re: Show me your rears!
That wintergreen color is neat! Any other pictures of the truck?
I like the flames idea, definitely post pictures. I installed my roll pan (smooth with the licence plate box) and stock tail lights last night. I'm not super thrilled with the gap under the tail gate, but maybe thats needed for when its in the down position. I know its not that unique/creative and I do plan to do something else in the future, but this will work for now. Will post pictures soon. |

Re: Show me your rears!
Here are pictures. The back of the truck is 18" off the wall (tight working conditions) so I couldn't get any wider shots of the whole rear.
If I do end up keeping the roll pan I will weld up the seams that are just spot welded now. |

Re: Show me your rears!
Here's mine, sorry for the poor quality picture. It is a piece of heavy C channel flush mounted with the body. The fuel tank is under the box and I wanted something substantial in front of it, not just sheet metal. I may cover it with a roll pan to match the fleetside body lines but probably will just run it the way it is now.
