Does Everyones fuel gauge move around a lot?
Dont mean to nit pick the old girl but the fuel gauge moves alot on my 71 and dont remember the gauges in my other 67-72 trucks moving as much as this one does. Even going straight down the hwy it will move back and forth a 1/4 of a tank.

Re: Does Everyones fuel gauge move around a lot?
Mine does and i just replaced it. How much does it move? What happend with my old one was the float had a pin hole in it and filled with some gas so it was like a bobber affect and after i replaced it the new one still moves but not as much.

Re: Does Everyones fuel gauge move around a lot?
Its caused by fuel slosh in the original tank. I replaced mine with a foam filled fuel cell doesn't hardly move at all even thru hard turns. factory tank doesn't have good baffling.

Only when I accelerate, stop, or make a hard turn.

Re: Does Everyones fuel gauge move around a lot?
Yeah, no baffles in the tank, so when its low on fuel it tends to slosh around more.
x2 @ the gas guage moves when the speedometer moves LOL

Re: Does Everyones fuel gauge move around a lot?
LOL!!! Well When I bought the truck I had a hour trip back home so I put 30 bucks in it and came up to 3/4 and what is when I was going straight down the hwy and it will still moving from 1/2 to 3/4. My el camino does the same thing but my other 2 67-72 trucks I had I dont remember them doing it this much. But maybe they did.
